After we finished our product and made changes to our tailer, we recorded extra audience feedback. From this we learnt that....
What they liked about our trailer:
- From our audience feedback we found that an effective part of our trailer was the motion backgrounds used throughout and the titles that we placed. The motion backgrounds gave good effect to the horror genre and made our trailer look all-around more professional. The titles we used , with the motion background, also gave a great effect to our trailer especially when the soundtrack changed its tone every time one came up. We also used overlays throughout our trailer, this was also mention in our audience feedback. By putting the overlays they said it gave more of a dark and dingy look - which also gave our trailer a good effect.
- We also found the acting skills within our trailer looked professional and realistic, especially the clips of the victim with a knife.
What stood out on our trailer:
- The use of the props gave it a sense of realism, which stands out to the audience. It also helps them connect to our trailer by using props such as knifes and candles which are used in every day life. It was also said that the mise-en-scene worked well with our trailer as by using a modern house it helps the audience link more to the actors involved.
What makes it successful:
- The soundtrack used was also successful as the track building up and then going quieter again builds up the tension and keeps the viewers on edge. It was also said that with the overlays and background as a whole it all fitted and flowed well.
- The use of a variety of shots and techniques and editing all looked professional and made the trailer work well as a whole.
What was good about our poster and magazine:
- Our magazine and poster were also seen as successful. The magazine was good as you could relate to our trailer by the use of the blonde victim on the front - which you can clearly see that she is scared.
- The poster was a success too. According to the audience it is 'different to anything they've seen' which was what we were trying to do. You can also tell the poster is relating to a horror genre due to the dark and dingy wall and the eye looking distorted and not normal. It was also said that it is 'something you would see at the cinema' as the editing was very professional.
