We firstly used IMDb to gain information on different paranormal based films to try and get some ideas and inspiration for our trailer.

On IMDb Paranormal Activity scored a massive 6.4 out of 10, therefore, through this we planned to use paranormal as our trailer genre.

The Ring used an estimated $48,000,000 and the opening weekend gained $15,015,393 (USA). The worldwide gross (Excluding USA) was $100,600,000.
The Ring also gained an immense rating on IMDb of 7.1 and received frequent good comments, which has also inspired us.

We then used 'meta critic' to back up the information we had already found and to find more.
Again, through these results on Metacritic it persuaded us further to base our trailer on paranormal due to such good results and ratings on this.

For both films, throughout our research, gained great results and reviews which were mainly all positive. Therefore, we decided overall to chose our genre to be paranormal.
